Beach Erosion Human Impact
The damming of most waterways in the us has thus prevented a major supply of sand from getting to our beaches.
Beach erosion human impact. Three major part of the beach humans have impacted the most are pollution levels marine life and erosion rates. Human impact 2 abstract. Coastal erosion also known as shoreline retreat is a little understood phenomenon in which climate changes and human activities result in the loss of shorelines. When vegetation is planted in the ground the topsoil is shifted which causes erosion.
The loose topsoil is then transported by wind to nearby streams and waterways and become sediment or runoff lowering the overall quality of the water. People try to protect some areas from erosion but this can have negative impacts as well as positive. Ultimately a beach erodes because the supply of sand to the beach can not keep up with the loss of sand to the sea. There are two types of coastal management.
There has been an increase in erosion at great cowden because of the groynes used in mappleton. The way the coast is managed can cause conflict. Most sand is transported from inland via rivers and streams. This may cause troubles for water intakes and for irrigation and cause changes to the estuarine habitats.
Deeper penetration of the tide into rivers and estuaries and increased saline intrusion especially during the dry season. Other impacts also have to be taken into consideration. Humans are drawn to the coast initially for ease of transport and industry but increasingly for recreation purposes. The result is a need to manage and control both coastal erosion flooding which is difficult given the dynamic nature of coastal environments.

Coastal erosion is a result of human activities and natural environment changes making the coastal dynamic action wave current wind lose balance in the coastal process and the long term loss of sediments of coastal zone results in the destruction process of coastline retreat and beach erosion. Agriculture is the main way humans cause soil erosion.
